My aspiration to represent Mbaitoli State Constituency is to positively change the narratives – Chukwuezi

As All Progressives Congress, APC advance plans to conduct their primaries barely two weeks from now, and ahead of 2027 political dispensation, Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Chukwuezi says her aspiration to represent the people of Mbaitoli State Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly is borne out of her divinely driven patriotic desire to positively change narratives of governance in the council area, the State and Nigeria at large.
Chukwuezi popularly known as Nwanyi Alaeze disclosed this on Thursday while addressing critical political stakeholders of Mbaitoli LGA of her intention to run for the State Constitutency election and solicited for their maximum support.
The well attended meeting was held at Barr. Marcellinus Nlemigbo (Marcon), the local government area apex political leader office complex along the ever busy Owerri – Onitsha express road.
The political Amazon pointed out that, “God in His infinite mercy and decision of given men a help mate, created a woman out of a man’s ribs”.
The creation and the statement she pointed out were not accidental, and the essence is for women to assist the men in all their domestics, developmental and transformational efforts.
Nwanyi Alaeze insisted that, “it’s on this premises that I have come out to patriotically serve the State Constitutency, the State and the nation at large.
“As for my coming out, am coming out to positively change the narratives. Am coming out so that the Kingdom of God will be honoured and praised, because if we placed God first in all our endeavours, every other things will be positively put in place, hence God is the author and finisher of our faith.
The philanthropist par excellence turned politician also said that, “honestly, with me as a legislator in Imo State House of Assembly, certainly the fear of God, truth and righteousness will reign supreme in the State Governance and the people will definitely rejoice, because righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach”.
She identified problem of governance in Nigeria as sin, noting that no matter how negatively it’s described, even as she pointed out that, if governance is carried out in all sincerity of righteousness, that all would have been well with the people, the State and the nation at large.
The educationist turned frontline politician further observed that in all honesty, that her mission is anchored in ensuring good welfare for the people through coordinated quality and effective representations.
“Ndi Mbaitoli nwe m, God knows, I will make you proud, in all my live endeavours, I do things that courageously and wholesomely amazed people, and definitely this ambition will not be an exception, moreso, as I have the support of heaven, my ambition is honestly driven by God who has said, my daughter go, I want to use you as an instrument of redemption of the people of Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State and Nigeria at large.
Chukwuezi further reiterated that she is destined to make impossible things possible and her uttermost reward will be, the people of Mbaitoli State Constituency being proud that a time like this, they have a woman called Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Chukwuezi that gave them sense of belonging in governance.
She also assured that,”as an educationist, and proprietress of three standard schools in Imo State, am duty bound in ensuring that digital and technological driven qualitative education thrives in the State.
“I will equally make sure that the medical system works with compassion and empathy, by the Grace of God, my husband is a reputable Consultant Physician in family medicine in Nigeria, besides, we own a good private hospital here in Owerri and I have been deeply involved in the effective management of the hospital for the past 30 years.
“If given the opportunity, I will use my legislative mandate to ensure that a state of emergency is declared in all the roads in Mbaitoli State Constituency and there will be a total revolution in the rehabilitations, reconstructions and revamping them” she re-assured.
The political Amazon further lamented over the state of power supply in the state and described as unfortunate that the nation in the 21st century is hedging her major source of energy supply on solar, emphasizing that if given the legislative mandate, this critical economic sector will deserve an accelerated attention, and the children, youths, women and elderly needs to be taken care of through enforcement of good welfare oriented governmental programmes and policies.
Earlier in his speech, Hon. Kingsley Ononuju-Ekwedashike, a renowned political leader in the State and Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on IRROMA commended Lady Chukwuezi for her courage and patriotism.
Ononuju-Ekwedashike attested that the aspirant belongs to the same INEC political ward of Ogwa Ward 2 with him and applauded her committed to the political party and humanity at large.
She appealed to her to endeavor and consult most of the leaders privately and further advised her against politics of do or die.
Responding, Barr. Marcellinus Nlemigbo (Marcon), the council area apex political leader while thanking her for her political interest and courage advised her to seriously familiarize herself with the party leadership in the wards, local government area and the State.
Nlemigbo informed that they are many having the same ambition and aspiration within the political party but at last only one of them will represent the party.
The apex political leader revealed that the political party is gender friendly and would be impressed if at least 7 women within the 27 council areas of the State will be given opportunity to represent their constitutents in the forthcoming coming political dispensation in the State Assembly.
He passionately prayed she should be the one that would be adopted as a consensus candidate but regretted that in case she was not lucky enough, that she should not leave the political party because of future and better opportunities.
While stating his unflinching supports to women, as well as the importance of women in purposeful and good governance, he passionately cautioned politicians against been in opposition and the need for political reconciliation and inclusiveness.
Nlemigbo who was excited over the recent conclusion for ceding the zoning of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s successor to Owerri senatorial zone noted that as his greatest achievement in politics and enjoined the people of Owerri zone to always be grateful to the Governor for his unconditional love to the senatorial zone and her people.
Adding his voice, Hon. Ifunanya Nwanegwo ,the Executive Chairman of Mbaitoli LGA while extolling her political virtues also advised her not to give up, saying, “in politics there’s always the hands of God at work, I am gender friendly and thus, my Vice Chairman at the council, is a woman of implicit humility and respect”.
Nwanegwo while further thanking her for her indomitable courage and boldness as well as her husband’s support, however passionately advised her on the need to be loyal to the political party noting that in politics, “the party decision is always supreme and the gospel truth is that, Governor Hope Uzodimma, will definitely make an input in emergence of any candidate of the political party in the State”.
Also speaking, Mr. Chindu Chindu (Oceanic), Lady Stella Akuwudike, and Lolo Maria Mbakwe also expressed their gratitude for her courage as a woman and her unflinching trust in God, noting that, what God can not do, does not exist.
They said it point blank that days are gone when women are meanly used as political praise singers and spectators, just as they seriously canvassed on the need for women to be meaningfully inclusive in Nigerian political activities.
They also gave positive testimonies of the aspirant even as they equally advised her to be dogged in her consultations, prayers and always build her trust in God, while assuring her of their maximum support and cooperations.
They described Mbaitoli leaders as honest, transparent and as people firmly believed in obeying constituted authorities, as well as their friendly dispositions to women and their activities.
They stated their persistent advocacy and passionate appeal for a woman at least for the first time since the creation of the local government area to represent the State Constitutency in the State Assembly, while also firmly supporting APC’s dispositions to consensus candidature.
They also wished that she should be adopted as a consensus candidate but re-advising her that in case, she was not adopted, on no condition should she leave the political party because there are so many opportunities to serve and benefit upon as a party in government and at the Center.
While advising those leading and guiding her against betrayal, they echoed that what a man can do that a woman can even do better.
