Maltreatment of Super Eagles: Sports Minister receives National Team back to the country

The Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh Monday night received the National Team back home from Libya on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The team was supposed to meet the Mediterranean Knights of Libya on Tuesday in a reverse fixture AFCON 2025 qualifiers but on getting to the North African country, they were delayed at the Al Abraq International Airport without food, water or access to internet facilities which prompted Nigerian Government to withdraw the team from participating in the match and followed it up with necessary arrangement to bring the team back to the country.

The team which arrived the country Monday night aboard Value Jet Airline were received on arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by the Honourable Minister of Sports.

He noted that the Federal Government waded into the matter to ensure that they came back safely because it cannot stand idle and see it’s citizens been maltreated.
Senator Enoh expressed confidence that the Confederation of African Football ( CAF) will take a decision that will be favourable to Nigeria in the matter
