All is virtually set for Imo state governor, Hope Uzodimma to commission a 2 kilometer road in new Owerri constructed by Imo millionaire Prince (Dr.) Alex Mbata.

Newstap.com.ng gathered that the road, a dual carriage with street light has been rechristened Prince Alex Mbata road with the approval of Imo State governor.

Uzodimma we further learnt has expressed delight with the magnanimity of the Lagos based business mogul, Prince Mbata who opted to construct the road as a way of helping the state put in place the much needed public infrastructure that can fast track the development of the state.

Mbata according to sources had before now equally extended the same gesture of making life better for his people to his Ngwoma, Obube community in Owerri North LGA with the construction of a 5 km road with asphalt and drainage that runs from Ulakwo to Ngwoma.

He also singlehandedly built places of worship for his people amongst other philanthropic gestures.

It would be noted that the 2 km road constructed in Owerri would be the first of its kind in Imo state, little wonder the state governor has decided to personally commission it.

The Prince Alex Mbata road project is coming at a time when the state government is making efforts at re constructing several roads in the state. Governor Uzodimma had last week during Imo stakeholders meeting disclosed that his government is currently rehabilitating 59 roads across the state.
