Mighty Man Seeks Royal Blessing From HRM King Friday Abaja

..Set to Present his AIWF Africa heavyweight Title to his Royal Highness

Reigning AIWF African Heavyweight Champion and title holder, De Mightyman who has his real name as Happy Egu Okolo is set to pay a royal courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, King Friday Abaja, the Ukwata I of Umukwata, to seek his royal blessings and formally present his African championship title.

Mightyman hails from Emu-Uno, a historic and culturally rich community situated in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State.

He is an award-winning Nigerian professional wrestler and a dominant figure in African professional wrestling.

Trained by the legendary wrestler Elephando Bassey, he has had a decorated career in the sport since 1998 when he started. The timely visit is intended to celebrate the champion’s achievements while recognizing the importance of traditional institutions in promoting youth development, cultural heritage, and sporting excellence.

According to Olusesan Olukoya, Secretary General of Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA), the organization promoting the Deltan champion, the presentation of the championship belt to the monarch symbolizes respect for traditional leadership and acknowledges the role of royal fathers in inspiring young people to pursue excellence through sports.

“Mightyman’s visit is more than a celebration of sporting success. It is an opportunity to honour our traditional institutions and to seek the royal blessings of His Royal Majesty as we continue to promote professional wrestling across Africa,” Olukoya said.

He added that Pro Wrestling Africa remains committed to building meaningful relationships with traditional rulers, government institutions, corporate organizations, and community leaders to advance professional wrestling and empower young athletes throughout the continent.

During the visit, Mightyman is expected to present his AIWF African Heavyweight Championship title to the monarch as a mark of respect and appreciation for his leadership and commitment to community development.

The occasion will also provide an opportunity to discuss how sports can be used to engage young people positively, encourage healthy lifestyles, and promote African talent on the international stage.

Pro Wrestling Africa reaffirmed its commitment to expanding professional wrestling across Africa through talent development, international partnerships, grassroots programmes, and championships that showcases the continent’s growing wrestling talent.
