National Sports Festival: Akiotu gives passmark to Edo facilities

The lush green Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, venue of football equipped with modern broadcast facilities, 3 score boards and VAR playback.

The Chairman of Media and Publicity Sub Committee of the Local Organising Committee for the National Sports Festival, tagged Edo 2020, Mr. Tony Akiotu has given a pass mark to the facilities put in place by the host of the 20th edition of the festival which will be hosted in Benin City in March.
Speaking in Benin after the tour of the festival venues, Akiotu said Edo was ready to host the festival, stressing “I am satisfied with what I have seen here today. The main bowl is lush green, the media centre is near completion and a state of the art facility, one of the best in Africa. I also visited the swimming pool, boxing gym and the tennis courts, among others. They are all ready”, he said
The Managing Director of DAAR Communications assured all that the Edo 2020 National Sports Facilities is a reality and that the festival will be the cynosure of eyes, adding that “With the state of the art facilities I have seen here today, Edo will host the biggest and best games ever witnessed in Nigeria’s history”.
Akiotu was accompanied on the tour by the deputy director of facilities, Emmanuel Edokpayi.
The National Sports Festival is billed to hold from March 21 to April 1 with the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory expected to take part in the Games.
