NFF President to storm Lagos for NLO Super 8 finals

Newly elected President of Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau will be performing his first official assignment since his election last week in Benin City the Edo State Capital.

Gusau will lead top notchers of the football house to grace the finals of this year’s Nation Wide League One (NLO) Super 8 tournament slated for Saturday, October, 8 at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Media Officer of the League, Tunde Shamsudeen who confirmed this to newstap.com said that the League board is looking forward to receive the NFF helsman and his entourage just as he expressed satisfaction with the successful organisation of the week-long competition which has brought out the best in the players in the lower league.
” We at the NLO are happy with the quality of football displayed at the Super 8 which is an indication that we have quality players in the lower Leagues. We’re eagerly awaiting the finals on Saturday and I can confirm to you that the NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau will be on ground to witness the epic finals”, he said.
Meanwhile, youthful Abuja based side, Mailantarki Care Fc who topped Group A with 6 points will be meeting Madiba FC of Lagos who garnered 7 points to emerge winners of Group B in the finals.
To qualify for the finals, Mailantarki lost by 1-2 to Smart City of Lagos, defeated FC Ebedei 2-1 before recording a 3-0 victory over Kan Khalifat of Abakiliki, Ebonyi State in their last Group game while Madiba Fc defeated Junior Danburam Fc of Daura, Katsina State 1-0 in their first match before dispatching Police Barrete team of Gombe 4-0 and then played out a goalless draw with Aspire Fc of Lagos in their final Group match.
Eight teams namely Khun Khalifat, Fc, Ebedei, Madiba Fc, Police Baretta, Danburam Fc, Smart City Fc, Mailantarki Cares Fc and Aspire Fc are participating in the week-long.
All the eight teams have gained promotion to play in the NNL next season and the Super 8 is organised to determine the overall champion of the third tier League.
