Obi visits victims of Plateau attack, donates N10 million to them

The Presidential Candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 General Election Mr. Peter Obi yesterday, Saturday, December, 30, 2023 visited the camp for internally displaced persons in Bokkos LGA, Plateau State.
During the visit, Obi expressed sympathy with the victims, promising to donate N10 million to the families of those killed in the Christmas Eve attacks in Bokkos and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
” It’s unfortunate that people have been rendered homeless for no fault of theirs because of senseless attack.
These victims lost their loved ones, they lost their bread winners and everything they have.
“The humanitarian challenge posed by these attacks is so large that only the Federal Government can solve the problem and that’s why I am here not only to offer my sympathy to them but to mobilize other Nigerians and corporate organizations to help these victims.
“Nigerians must show them love, we must go beyond the focus on them, there is a need to support them with food and clothing when they are displaced.
“I have called on the Federal Government to address these issues of gunmen attack across the country.
“I believe that if the Federal Government is determined to stop these murders, they can do it.
“I therefore challenge the Federal Government to end the bloodshed across the country”, he said.
Obi encouraged the victims and the entire Plateau people to forgive their attackers and allow God to take revenge on their behalf.
Earlier in his welcome address, the chairman of Bokkos Local Government Area, Monday Kassa said there were more than 4,000 internally displaced persons ( IDP) in 12 camps in his local government.
