Nwogu drums support for Labour Party, commission’s new party office

House of Representatives candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala federal constituency, for the 2023 elections, Attorney Dr. Matthew Irondi Nwogu has called on all his admirers and good people of the area to join the party and always identity with its activities and objectives aimed at rescuing Nigeria from inept leadership.

Nwogu made the call last Thursday while speaking at the official opening of LP’s Ward Office at Afor Umuohiagu Market Square, for Logara/Umuohiagu Ward in Ngor Okpala LGA, donated by a chieftain of the party, Mr Ikechukwu Echibe(Kofi).

Chief Nwogu who commended the donor for the gesture described the Labour Party as the only hope of the citizenry to install a people-oriented, responsible and responsive government come 2023 with the view to restoring the nation’s lost glory as ‘Giant of Africa.’

Expressing delight over the turnout of LP members at the event, the National Assembly candidate said that the turnout of members and supporters of LP is very impressive and a clear indication that the party is well received and on ground in the ward and Ngor Okpala at large.

He urged the party leaders to remain focused on the dreams and aspirations of the party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi who he declared has come out selflessly to rescue Nigeria from the woods occasioned by decades of maladministration.

Also speaking, the Imo State Treasurer of LP, Dr. Chris C. Uzowuru who represented the state leadership of the party at the occasion, described the opening of the new office as another milestone in the advancement of the Labour Party efforts to take over power and reposition the country.

He urged all well-meaning Nigerians to embrace the message of a ‘New Nigeria’ being preached by Peter Obi and the Labour Party assuring that it is possible for the citizens to reclaim their country from the stranglehold of a heartless cabal.

“The turnout is overwhelming, I least expected the large crowd. What the event showed is that Labour Party has taken over the area from the so called major parties.

“We are hopeful that more people will join LP as we move on to next stages through the campaigns to elections proper and we are sure of winning with what I saw here today.

“I encourage our people to continue working even harder as there is no reason to relent because the results of our efforts are increasing and encouraging day by day,” he said.

Handing over the new office to the party in Logara/Umuohiagu Ward, the donor, Ikechukwu Echibe stated that he decided to donate the office to provide accommodation for the party officials and members in his ward to enable them function effectively and win in the coming polls.

Kofi as he is popularly known added that his decision to assist the party with an office accommodation is also to make the party presence in the ward more visible and draw public attention and interest to LP.

He decried the idea of party members having to go to the individuals’ homes for party meetings and other activities pointing out that LP has come to change the ugly old order and ways of politicking in all nooks and crannies of Nigeria.

He declared, “I am Obidient and will continue to remain so. I am committed to making sure that Peter Obi and Labour Party will win the 2023 presidential and other elections in my area here. Nigeria desperately need good governance now and Obi/Datti and LP remain the answer.”

He pledged to improve on his support for the party in the area by always contributing his modest quota in the future until victory is secured and enjoined youths of Logara and Umuohiagu communities as well as Ngor Okpala LGA to embrace and give unflinching support to LP in the area.
