Former Vice Chairman of Imo state FA, Sir Emma Ochiagha is on cloud nine over the good start Heartland have made in the Nigeria National League (NNL).

Ochiagha who is SA to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Heartland FC said the team is being propelled by the marching order of Governor Hope Uzodimma who wants the team back to the elite cadre at the end of the season.

“You can see that Heartland have started the season on a good note getting results away from home. That is what we need to return to the elite cadre. And the thing going for the club is the support from government. The Governor, Hope Uzodimma has made it clear that he wants to see the team back to the top immediately. We would do our best to deliver,” Ochiagha said.

Heartland it would be noted was last season relegated to the NNL alongside another heavyweight, Kano Pillars.

The Owerri team this weekend played out a goalless draw with Cynosure in Abakaliki after beating Ibom FC by a lone goal at home.
