Basketball: D’Tigers Stranded In Angola

By Akeem Busari
Nigeria male national basketball team D’Tigers are stranded in Angola. 5 days after the FIBA World Cup qualifiers held in Angola in which the team put up impressive displays to top their group, the players and officials are yet to arrive at their bases.

A reliable source disclosed that the players are bemoaning the unfortunate situation due to poor traveling arrangements made for the team’s delegation. It will be recalled that the players and officials arrived in batches which may likely have affected the team in its first match.
The team arrived Luanda from Benguella by road yesterday to find out there was no flight to take some of  them out of the Angolan Capital.
Some lamented the shoddy travel plans and recalled that they haven’t experienced such situations in recent times because such travel arrangements and other logistics are usually managed professionally.
