World Cup 2026 : NFSC will reciprocate GHANSU’s sympathy visit with goodwill visit – Ikpea

National Chairman of Nigeria Football Supporters Club Rev (Amb) Samuel Ikpea, says the club will reciprocate the visit to Nigeria by their counterparts from Ghana with goodwill message.
Ghana National Supporters Union on Thursday February,5, 2026, visited Nigeria in their numbers to congratulate President General of Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo on his recent election as Patron of Confederation of African Sports Supporters Union.
In his opening remarks, the leader of delegation, Rev. Nelson Alile noted that apart from coming to congratulate Ladipo, they also want to use the opportunity to sympathize with Nigeria over her failure to qualify for this year’s World Cup to be co- hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Speaking at the well attended event, Ikpea noted that the club under his watch appreciates the brotherly relationship existing between the two clubs but was quick to add that although part of the reason why the fellow West Africans came was to sympathize with us over our failure to qualify for this year’s world cup but that Nigeria will soon reciprocate the visit to wish them good luck as they represent Africa at the biggest football fiesta in the world.
” I’m happy that our brothers from Ghana came to celebrate our President General as well as sympathize with us over our failure to book a ticket to this year’s world cup but very soon we’ll be going to Ghana to wish them goodluck as one of the country’s that will fly African flag at the world cup.
” The visit is to show the level of corporation between our two clubs. It’s a fact that Ghana did not qualify for the just concluded AFCON finals in Morocco, but they gave us their full support throughout the duration of the tournament .
” It’s that type of corporation that we’re preaching in supporters club because when we collaborate, we’ll see each other as brothers and sisters and there won’t be any problem at match venues because there must be a winner and loser “, he concluded
