Oladipo, Owolabi Extol Abogun @ 60, attest to his Political Proficiency
Prominent football and community leaders on Wednesday converged in Ibadan, at the 60th birthday celebration of Mrs. Bukola Owolabi, wife of Dr. Felix Owolabi where strong endorsements were delivered in support of the political aspirations of Dr. MKO Abimbola Abogun for the Ibadan Southwest/Northwest Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Rafiu Oladipo, President General of the Nigerian Football Supporters Club (NFSC), described Abogun as a politically astute and community-oriented figure who has consistently demonstrated leadership capacity both at home and abroad.
Oladipo emphasized that Abogun, who currently serves as Secretary of the NFSC United States chapter, has distinguished himself through impactful engagement with constituents and diaspora communities.
According to him, “Abogun has shown commitment, organizational competence, and grassroots connection that clearly set him apart. The constituency deserves a representative with his level of exposure and dedication.”
Also lending his voice was former Nigerian international footballer, Dr. Felix Owolabi, who echoed similar sentiments about Abogun’s suitability for legislative responsibilities.
Owolabi highlighted Abogun’s ability to bridge local needs with global perspectives, noting that effective representation requires both experience and vision.
The speakers collectively stressed that the Ibadan Southwest/Northwest Federal Constituency stands to benefit from what they described as “progressive, people-focused leadership,” urging stakeholders and voters to support Abogun’s candidacy.
The birthday and retirement ceremony drew attendees from sports, political, and community circles, which includes Alhaji. Raimi Olatunji Socrates, former Director of Sports University of Ibadan, Dr Abiodun Salami, Former Shooting Stars defender Idowu Otubusin popularly known as Slow Poison, Amusa Adisa and host of others.
