2027: My mission is to link Imo to foreign investors- Duru

Poised by what he described as visionary, purposeful and transformational governance of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Hon. Emma Duru says his aspiration to represent the people of Mbaitoli State constituency in the forthcoming political dispensation is borne out of his patriotic commitment towards the consolidation of Uzodimma’s giant stride achievements by using his international contacts in linking the State to foreign investors.
Duru who’s a Canadian based youthful politician disclosed this on Wednesday while addressing leaders of the Council Area of All Progressives Congress, APC at Chief Marcellinus Nlemigbo office complex along ever busy Owerri -Onitsha express road of his intention to run for the State Assembly so as to offer effective and qualitative representations.
“Just getting the House of Assembly ticket alone, and am going to launch it in Canada and USA before Imo citizens living there, it will definitely be a boost to the State.
“Obviously, it will restore mutual confidence and trust, that the State government has respect on diasporas, Imo State will be bustling with lots of foreign based socioeconomic linkages, for instance, I have concluded a philanthropic programme with a Foundation Center on how to advanced health care deliveries in Mbaitoli local government area and the State at large.
” Definitely, Emma Duru is coming to make things happen in Imo State, and I will certainly make it happen, once giving the legislative mandate” he assured.
Duru popularly known as ABJ further thumbed up Governor Uzodimma for what he also described as”unwavering revolutionary infrastructural developments and transformations of the State”, noting these as the veritable factors that is driving his patriotic desire to serve the State as a legislator.
The House of Assembly aspirant expressed dissatisfaction that Uzodimma’s people oriented legacy achievements are under reported even as he seriously canvassed the need of changing the narratives.
He also insisted that he has the contact to link Imo State government to have a collaborative relationship with Quebec Canadian Parliamentary system, the benefits he pointed out are enormous, reassuring that most of their policies and programmes would be in the overall interest of his constitutents and Imo State at large.
The revered politician further informed that there are many Imo State citizens residence in diaspora, and many of them are afraid to come back home due to alleged fear of insecurities.
He reiterated that,”if am giving the ticket, it will automatically change the mindset of the people over there with regards to perceived insecurities in the state and definitely it will clear insecurities nostalgic fear of Imo citizens living in diaspora and they will no longer hesitate in coming back home to invest and participate in socioeconomic development of the State” he assured.
Responding, Barr. Marcellinus Nlemigbo, a Chieftain of APC and an apex political leader of the Council Area applauded the aspirant for his courage and patriotism to serve the people.
Nlemigbo also thanked him for choosing APC as his political platform urging him not to relent because it’s God that gives power, and the need for unity of purpose.
Adding his voice, Hon. Ifunanya Lactus Nwanegwo (JP), the Executive Chairman of Mbaitoli LGA equally commended the aspirant for choosing APC to express his ambition for a seat in the Parliament, promising that the party would continue to welcome everyone who found the APC viable for political engagement.
Others who spoke also urged Duru to work for the overall interest of the political party and to consult further.
