Bayelsa Education Commissioner Congratulates Ijaw National Academy Girls Over Volleyball Championship Triumph

..Says they've made Ijaw nation proud

The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Bayelsa State, Dr. Gentle Emelah has congratulated the Ijaw National Academy girls following their victory at the 2nd National School Volleyball Championship held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos

The INA on Friday defeated host state Lagos 2-1 in three sets 25–18, 25–18,15–12, delivering a commanding performance to shock the home fans.

Honourable Gentle Emelah, in a congratulatory message, commended the girls for the historic feat, describing it as a reflection of extraordinary determination and raw talent discovery.

Gentle lauded the immense contribution of Godwin Adagbo, Nigeria School Sport Federation, Bayelsa State, coaches, and school management of Ijaw National Academy.

“I want to deeply extend my congratulations to the Ijaw National Academy girls for this milestone they have achieved. It’s a thing of joy and mind blowing, I feel elited that our students were able to pull this up.”

“The government of Bayelsa State is proud of this achievement. Thank you for bringing pride to the Ijaw Nation.”

“Also, I want to appreciate the massive contributions of the school management, coaches, and Godwin Adagbo for this historic milestone.” Gentle said.

Meanwhile, the triumph has earned the Ijaw National Academy girls the right to represent Nigeria at the World School Volleyball Championship in Shangluo, China, slated July 1st to 10th, 2026.
