Jerry Israel wants U-20 action for Nigeria

Immensely talented Nigerian rising soccer star, Jerry Israel has declared that his immediate ambition is to lace boots for the country at the U-20 level.

The teenager who had a stint with a Belarus club before retracing his steps back home where he is now warming up to lace boots for Kano Pillars said his desire is to wear the nation’s green white green jersey.

“I m eligible to play at the U-20 level and prove my mettle at that level. I pray the coaches give me the opportunity to showcase my talent and do the country proud. I m working very hard to improve on my game because there is no alternative to hard work,” Israel said, even as he added that he would not hesitate to grab any opportunity that comes his way to play for Nigeria.

The 18-year old natural left footer said he is quite aware that the country is blessed with several talents waiting in the wings insisting that he is not scared of the competition for jersey both at club and national team levels.

“I know one has to be at his best to make it in the round leather game. I have the God given talent and I know that what is required of me is to work hard and have confidence in my abilities.”
