Randy Bishop remanded over alleged ‘rape’ of church members

An Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Monday remanded the founder of ‘I Reign Christian Ministry, Daniel Oluwafeyiropo, on allegations that he raped two of his church members (names withheld).

Justice Ramon Oshodi remanded Bishop Oluwafeyiropo in the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions.

The judge granted the defendant bail in the sum of N20million with two sureties in the like sum.

He said one of the sureties must be an owner of a built property in Lagos State and the property must be enough to cover the bail sum.

“The original document of the landed property must be submitted to the Chief Registrar of Lagos State.

“The sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must have three years tax payment to Lagos State,” he said.

The judge also ordered the defendant to deposit his international passport with the Chief Registrar and ruled that there would be accelerated hearing of the case.

Oshodi adjourned till May 9 for trial.

According to the prosecution, the defendant allegedly committed the offence sometime in June 2020 at Ikota Villa Estate, Lekki, Lagos.

The alleged offence contravened Sections 260(2) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
