Tanzania’s AFCON qualification: Egbe thumbs up Amuneke

FIFA licensed match agent cum sports facility construction expert, Ebi Egbe is popping champagne to celebrate Emmanuel Amuneke’s historic feat of qualifying Tanzania for their first Nations Cup in 39 years.
Egbe who spoke from London moments after the Tanzania, Uganda game which The Taifa Stars won by 3-0 described Amuneke as a great coach who is doing Nigeria proud.
“I m happy with what Amuneke is doing out there in Tanzania. He is one of us from AJ City in Lagos. He is a great coach and worthy ambassador of our country. As we speak I m popping champagne to celebrate Amuneke’s feat. I m confident he would do well in Egypt during the Nations Cup,” Egbe said.
Tanzania needed an outright victory in Sunday’s last group game against run away group leaders, Uganda to book a place in Egypt.
Playing in front of a full house at the Dar Es Salam, Amuneke’s men fired on all cylinders and scored three un replied goals that saw the fans go haywire in celebration.
The Tanzanian government had before Sunday’s game pledged to handsomely reward the team should they beat Uganda and qualify for the Nations Cup.
Uganda in spite of the defeat suffered in Dar finished on top of the group with 13 points, while Tanzania came second with eight points. Lesotho and Cape Verde played out a goalless draw in Praia to finish third and fourth respectively.
