Igali hails Delta State for hosting National Youth Games

Bayelsa State Commissioner For Sports, Daniel Igali has showered praises on Delta State for the passion to host the 7th National Youth Games; saying that the state need to be commended for their efforts.
The Wrestling Federation of Nigeria President while addressing Journalists in Asaba said, ” I commend the Government and people of Delta State for hosting this Youth Games. If they tell you how much was involved in hosting this competition, you will marvel and I say a big congratulations to Delta State” he said.
Igali who was speaking against the backdrop of most states not laying good foundation for grassroots sports development added that whether you are hosting competitions or funding athletes development, adequate funds must be made available to achieve the desired result.
“It’s quite unfortunate that some states do not see the need to lay solid foundation for proper grassroots sports development.
“The truth is that whether you’re hosting a competition or funding athletes development, adequate funds must be provided because it doesn’t come cheap and once this is done, you’ll definitely see the dividend in future”,he concluded.
