Toska football fiesta set for kick-off

The TOSKA Sports Committee officially conducted the draw for TOSKA (Owerri Federal Constituency) Football Tournament On Thursday 7th March, 2024.

The tournament is scheduled to commence on 28th March, 2024.

A total of 30 communities that formed the teams/clubs are to participate in the football fiesta.

The Owerri Federal Constituency lawmaker, Hon. Sir Tochukwu Okere, through the Sports Committee informed the clubs representatives and youth leaders of the participating communities that the essence of the competition is to showcase to the world the raw talent and football skills in Owerri Federal Constituency.

The eventual winners of the football fiesta shall get cash prizes. Three (tournament) best players shall also gain oversea sponsorship to further their careers in some of the best clubs/leagues in the world.

Addressing the participating clubs, Hon. Tochukwu Okere, through the Sports Committee Secretary, Mr. James Oparaekocha, emphasis that the rules set out for the tournament, remain FIFA standard which must be strictly adhered to during the tournament.

The committee revealed that the Federal lawmaker, Hon. Tochukwu Okere has approved the provision of free sets of sport jersey, free buses to convey players to match venues and other prerequisite needed for the success of the football competition.
