Abazu ancient kingdom plan 2024 Iriji cultural fiesta in grand style

Abazu ancient kingdom, in Ikeduru local government area of Imo State has advanced plans to host their age long annual cultural heritage, Iriji with the 2024 edition having a class of improved cultural fiesta and finesse.

The traditional ruler of the reverred ancient kingdom, HRH Eze Dr, Oliver Ubaferem Njoku (JP, MSI) Abazuma 11 of Abazu and popularly known as Oputaobie of Ikeduru, informed Journalists in Owerri, Imo State capital on Thursday that the historical event is detailed to hold on Saturday ( Orie) 31st of August, 2024 at his Golden Palace.

Eze Njoku pointed out that, due to the uniqueness of the cultural fiesta in sustaining their cultural heritage that this year’s ceremony will be deeply focused on the development and transformation of the ancient community in tandem with the global order and initiatives.

The first class traditional ruler while commending Governor Hope Uzodimma for his administration’s efforts in the development and transformation of the State, disclosed that HRM Eze (Dr) Vitus Kasa, the Asaa 11 of Asaa Ngugo Ikeduru will be the Chairman of the occasion while Prince Charles Amadi (Shavon), Hon. Johnleoba Iheoha, member representing Ikeduru State Constituency and HRM Eze Jude Nwaogu, the Secretary, Owerri Zone Traditional Rulers Council and Chairman Owerri North Council of Ndi-Eze will be the Special Guests of Honour.

He also informed that Sunday 1st September by 9 am will be thanksgiving mass at St. Peter Catholic Church Parish, Abazu noting that HRM Eze (Dr) Emmanuel Okeke, Eze Imo and Chairman South East Traditional Rulers Council will be the Royal Father of the day, just as Chief Michael Onyenwe, the Omereoha 1 of Abazu and Chief Patrick Anozike Nze have been detailed as the first and second Chairman Iwa-ji respectively.

Eze Njoku further advised members of the community, invited guests and members of the general public to always contact Chief Emenike Nwanagu, the Emeziaku 1 as well as the President General of Abazu autonomous community and Mr. Vitalis Akaraonye, the Chairman Amala-Abazu for further details.
