2025 AFCON Qualifiers : Sports Minister congratulates Super Eagles on victory over Libya
..Charges team to fly higher on Tuesday
Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh has congratulated the Super Eagles on their victory over Mediterranean Knights of Libya in a Morocco 2025 AFCON qualifiers, describing the victory as well deserved.
The Super Eagles Friday evening, piped Libya 1-0 to stay top of Group D, one point ahead of Cheetahs of Benin Republic who defeated Rwanda’s Amavubi 3-0 in another Matchday 3 encounter.
Speaking on the outcome of the match, Senator Enoh commended the fighting spirit of the Austin Equavoen’s tutored side which led to the victory, urging the team to keep to the tempo.
” I must commend the Super Eagles for their resilience and hard work which resulted in the only goal of the match.
“The players showed character, resilience and team work even when the game was going into deadlock and they deserve my commendation”, the Minister said.
Meanwhile, Senator Enoh has charged the team to play with the same spirit in the reverse fixture on Tuesday night in
Benina, Libya to enable them seal a ticket to the 35th Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco.
